NASHVILLE RECAP: FINAL ROUND CONTINUES TO FRUSTRATE IRON HEADS

COLLEGE GROVE, Tenn. – Iron Heads continued to struggle with their final rounds, when all four scores count, and fell to the last place in LIV Golf Nashville despite a promising Saturday.

Captain Kevin Na, Scott Vincent and Jinichiro Kozuma all shot 4-under par 67s in the second round to raise hopes of a good finish, but that was dashed as only Danny Lee finished in red numbers on Sunday with a 1-under 70.

Iron Heads and Majesticks are now the only teams in LIV Golf’s 2024 season not to have made it to the podium. And Sunday has been a problem that Na and his men must address if they want to change that statistic.

At The Grove, they were placed fifth after the first two rounds at 15-under and in a great position to improve on their best performance of the season – a solo 6th in Adelaide. However, the usually consistent Na could do no better than a 72, which was matched by Vincent. Kozuma closed with a 74 and the resulting tally of 4-over dragged the team down.

Vincent and Na matched their scores in all three rounds – 69, 67, 72 – and were tied 25th and 5-under. Kozuma slipped to tied 46th with rounds of 72, 67 and 74, while Lee, after his struggles in the first two rounds with his irons and wedge play (75, 73), could not improve from 54th place with his Sunday sub-par effort of 70.

With two top-10s and having never finished outside the 34th place this year, Na remains the best-placed Iron Heads player in the Individual Standings. The Captain has racked up 30.62 points, with his best being the heroic 6th place finish in Hong Kong, and is 26th in the Individual Standings.

Lee and Kozuma, who were tied 9th in LIV Golf Adelaide, are tied 45th with 8.4 points, while Vincent was still in the dreaded Drop Zone, in 54th place.
